The IMC Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Award has established itself as one of the most prestigious quality awards in India, which is the Indian version of MALCOLM BALDRIGE model of Business Excellence, prevalent in USA. Started in 1997, these awards are conferred on organizations that have adapted and promoted various quality initiatives on a sustained basis. There are six categories for these awards - Manufacturing, Service, Small Business, Overseas, Education and Health Care.
Speaking on this occasion, Dr. H.S. Ballal, Pro Chancellor, Manipal University said, "We are extremely honoured to receive this award. To be included among such a prestigious set of former winners is truly an accomplishment for us. We hope to be able to share our best practices with others in an effort to ensure continued success in education."
The IMC Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality programme has been seen as a catalyst for nation building. Since the inception of the Awards 11 years ago, approximately 350 companies have expressed their intention to apply and 231 of these companies have gone through the evaluation process.
